1.Research Summary

Bioinformatics is a field that uses computers to conduct medical and biological research. We handle DNA and protein sequences with computers and study genes and genomes of various organisms. We are analyzing metagenomic data covering all genes of microorganisms in the environment. In particular, intestinal bacteria are deeply involved in human health, so we are exploring diseases and related bacteria from intestinal environmental metagenomic data. In addition to studying DNA mutations of cancer cells, we are developing computational technologies to realize precision medicine, which enables us to select an optimal treatment method for each patient.
