Programs for calculating statistical powers of multistage GWA studies

These programs are prepared for calculating statistical powers, positive predictive values (PPV) and the number of genotypings of the joint analysis (JA) and the replication-based analysis (RBA) of arbitrary n-stage designs for genome-wide association studies. The programs are written by R language. Two kinds of programs are proposed for each input parameter. One is for disease model parameters, and the other is for practical contingency table data of genotypes such as AA, Aa and aa for instance. Before you run this R program, it is necessary to install "mvtnorm" package from download site of R project (http://www.r-project.org/).

The following framework is the web user interface (WUI) for calculating statistical powers, positive predictive values, the number of typings and other output parameters of the multistage design. Even if you cannot use R program at all, only by inputting the parameters or changing existing default values in cells and by pushing “Enter” of your computer or “ SUBMIT ” button in the lower, the results by R can be calculated.
