My visit to the Division of International Health
(Public Health) of Niigata University
It was my great pleasure to visit
the Division of International Health (Public Health) of
Niigata University,
from 7 to 12th November, 2011. I had my first
tutorial trainings on
GIS basic principles. It was amazing. I’m an
epidemiologist, responsible for influenza surveillance activities at the National Influenza Center, National
Center of Communicable Diseases, Mongolia. Since 2011/12 fiscal year, I’m also a PhD
fellow supported by JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) at the
Department of Virology, Tohoky University, Sendai, Japan. As part of my
project, I came to Niigata to analyze our influenza surveillance data using
Kriging method. I got some experiences and results
but my colleagues and I
need more training and practice to analyze the data using GIS methods.
When I return to Mongolia, I hope I can share our results and discuss on future
plan and collaboration activities.
I would like to thank everybody who trained and helped me as my Sensei Ass. Prof Shobugawa Yugo,
Professor Saito Reiko, Ass. Prof Saito Kousuke, students and staff.
Many thanks to Shobugawa sensei and
Kousuke-san and his family for wonderful Saturday. I enjoyed a lot.
Welcome to my country!
Burmaa.
