ようこそ　新潟大学救急集中治療医学教室のHPへ。

このホームページではわたしたちの様々な取り組みを紹介したり、今後救急集中治療医を目指す若手医師に役立つ情報を掲載しています。

わたしたち新潟大学救急集中治療医学教室は、日本有数の要請件数を誇る新潟県東部ドクターヘリを擁し、ER・高次救命救急センター・集中治療部を管轄しています。活動は多岐にわたり、根幹である救急救命医療と集中治療とはもちろんのこと、講座の中に小児グループやハートチームも有し、小児救急集中治療、循環器集中治療、移植医療、災害医療、基礎研究や臨床研究・データサイエンスまで、とても裾野のひろい活動を行っています。仲間たちのバックグラウンドも救急医・内科医・小児科医・麻酔科医・整形外科医など、救急集中治療に興味を持った多彩な医師が参集しているのが特徴です。持続可能な救急集中治療のありかたを皆で仲良く話し合って形作っています。

講座としては救急科専門医と集中治療専門医のプログラムを有しています。救急科専門医プログラムではドクターヘリ等により新潟県全域より重症患者さんを集約し診療していることから、地域枠の場合でも大学病院等を中心とした研修が許可されており、また救急科・麻酔科のみならず内科・外科・小児科・脳神経外科などの専門医取得後サブスペシャリティとしての集中治療専門医取得プログラムの受講も積極的に推進しています。若手医師の進路として、救命救急センターでドクターヘリに乗るもの、ER型の救急医になるもの、集中治療系内科医になるもの、基礎研究を極めるもの、行政職に就き医療システムそのものに挑戦するものなどとても多彩で、若手医師の活動範囲はとても広く彼ら彼女らのこれからの展開がとても楽しみです。

Welcome to the Website of the Department of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at Niigata University

On this website, we introduce various activities undertaken by our department and provide useful information for young physicians aspiring to become emergency and critical care specialists.

Our department at Niigata University oversees the entire spectrum of emergency and critical care medicine, including the ER, the Advanced Critical Care and Emergency Center, and the Intensive Care Unit. We are also proud to host the Eastern Niigata Doctor-Heli, which has the highest number of dispatches in Japan. Our activities are diverse, spanning not only core emergency and critical care medicine but also including a pediatric group and a heart team. We engage in a wide range of fields from pediatric emergency and critical care, mechanical cardiac support, and transplant medicine to disaster medicine, basic research, clinical studies, and data science.
Our team is composed of physicians from diverse backgrounds—emergency medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, anesthesiology, orthopedics, and more—all united by their interest in emergency and critical care. I have placed particular importance on creating a sustainable and supportive environment for emergency and critical care practice, and we continue to shape this together through open discussion.
Our department offers training programs for board certification in both emergency medicine and intensive care medicine. In the emergency medicine program, severely ill patients from across Niigata Prefecture are transported via Doctor-Heli for centralized treatment, and even physicians under regional quotas are permitted to train at university hospitals and similar institutions. We also actively promote the intensive care medicine program as a subspecialty for those who have already obtained board certifications in fields such as emergency medicine, anesthesiology, internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and neurosurgery.
The career paths of our young physicians are extremely diverse—some become Doctor-Heli flight physicians at critical care centers, others focus on ER-style emergency care, specialize as intensive care internists, delve deeply into basic research, or even take on administrative roles to challenge the healthcare system itself. The range of their activities is vast, and we are excited to see how each of them will develop in the future.
