1.Murakami Cohort Study
Age-related diseases is becoming a considerable burden, in terms not only of persons’ activities of daily living (ADL) and quality of life, but also of medical expenditure. In this background, we have set up a large-scale cohort study on age-related musculoskeletal diseases, including osteoporotic fracture, osteoarthritis, chronici pain, and dementia. We targeted all people, aged between 40 and 74 years, resided in Murakami City, Sekikawa Village, and Awashimaura Village in Niigata Prefecture. As a baseline investigation, 14,364 people participatedin the lifestyles questionnaire survey, and 8,497 people provided a blood sample.
