Our training course aims to offer an opportunity for information exchange and learning of the specialties, and for the education of "General Gastroenterologist.” Due to the outstanding characteristics of our university hospital institution, interested individuals can achieve the qualification of certified specialist of digestive diseases, gastroenterological endoscopy, and/or liver diseases, as well as of obesity, regenerative medicine, clinical nutrition, cancer therapy. In addition, our institution is also characterized as having the following: a graduation program for clinical and fundamental research; and a training course with a wide variety of options, including study abroad, which can be tailored to the needs of individual students. Our purpose is to foster "Clinician-Scientists" who would keep up with advances in medical science.

The concept of our training program

Our training course is designed in a flexible manner, in order to meet requirements based on the individual academic orientation and life design. As many patients have clinical conditions in which the hepato-biliary-pancreas is linked to the gastrointestinal tract in clinical practice, we provide the following programs: for the first half of the internship (three to five years after graduation), the program aims at the acquisition of wide knowledge necessary for gastrointestinal medicine; and for the latter half (five years or more after graduation), the program is tailored to addressing individual requirements.
