Collagen Disease

In some cases, the symptoms of the skin from Collagen Disease can be seen from the beginning. Other cases may have been found during the time of treatment. The symptoms seen on skin lead us to diagnose Collagen Disease. Especially, systemic skin disease, skin tendinitis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, which may cause multiple organ failures. Thus, it is crucial to diagnose the collagen disease in early stages.
Systemic skin disease has two types: diffuse skin-curable systemic scleroderma (typical symptom) and Localized Skin-Hardening Systemic Scleroderma (relatively mild type). The most common first appearance of a symptom is when you touch cold substances. Your fingers turn from white to purple (Reynaud Symptoms). Then skin hardening and vascular lesions begin and progress the disease. We can find the disease in relatively early stages from swollen or hardened hands and bleeding point in Claw epithelium. Recently, End-serine receptor antagonists can be used for Refractory Skin Ulcers from the influential of scleroderma. We provide this medication in Niigata University.
Recently, it has become possible to measure various kinds of autoantibodies for Skin Tendinitis. According to diagnose of subtype which can be an indicator, it helps to expect elapse or prediction as a barometer in skin tendinitis.
Some symptoms in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus especially appear when an inadequate medication of steroid ointment is administered. Taking oral medication, Hydroxy Chloroquine is efficient for the skin symptom.
These collagen diseases are autoimmune disorders. Diagnosis can be aided if particular autoantibodies can be discovered in the blood. We perform skin biopsy and histological diagnosis if necessary.
